I send them in to be rebuilt, so it's good to have a spare. Once I ended up with three, I found that I can change tools much faster than I can change bits.

That is exactly what I was thinking. If I lose another collet I'll be half the cost of a new rt angle.

Close to 80$ for the damn collet.

How the collets end up damaged is by trying to use 3mm burrs in a 1/8" collet most of the time.

Yessir, that is what got me the first time.. and why I recommended getting both sizes to Brian.
I have two, one is 3mm, the other is 3.2mm (1/8").

Sooooo much easier than switching collets

That is what I am thinking too. As Randy mentioned if ya send one in for rebuild, you still have a spare.

I bought several of the chinese hand pieces Shaun was improving on at one time. They've lasted 3 years now. They're not as smooth as a real Foredom 44T but for the price they're fine. I use the 44T for the heavy grinding and those for other stuff like polishing.

The China handpiece have their limits, but I haven't found it yet after 10-12 saws lol

I do prefer the drill type chuck in the stright handpiece. That what the 44T are?

Looking at the cc rt angle kit is probably the best "quality" starter kit for around 700$.

44T is collet style. Mine came with 3 different sizes. It will take 1/4" which is awesome for mufflers and really hogging out material when you raise exhaust 20° :b1:
