Maybe he is giving You a hint that You need a 70cc Husky ported by him! ;)

It all comes down to personal preference.
If You feel comfortable with Your saw setup why would You care if someone tells You different.
Give it a try and see how it goes.

Speculating whether a ported 59cc saw will step into 70-80cc saw territory is a little far fetched.

A 372xp OE even stock is a strong saw. A 362 even ported and all done up won’t really match one. Especially in bigger wood where the torque of the larger saw shines more. Porting just enhances what’s there already with the 362, not necessarily bumping it up to the next cc class. It comes down to using the right tool for the job. Bigger saw for bigger wood and smaller saw for smaller wood. Simple as that.

Apples and oranges ,what are you going to use it for ?I've got Stihl rear handles from 024 up to 084 .Sure I can cut 30" oak with the little 024 ,just takes longer .If I used the 084 on 8" stuff I'd be worn put lifting that heavy rascal before lunch .

It's a serious question. No need to buy a 70cc saw if the ported 362 is that or more. I have never used a 70cc saw. A 70cc saw is 18.6% bigger than a 59cc ms362. So, could/should it be

Thanks for the serious answer to a real question. I have one more based on what you said, if you care to answer.

For this 362, let's say you put a 25 inch bar on it (max size according to Stihl). Say you have a stock 70cc saw with a 25cc bar. Are you saying that the 70cc saw would, in general, usually/always win? Or is it likely the badboy ported 362 would hold its own?
The 70cc saw should still beat it like say the good old 044.

(Some even boast 32% gains)
Ahem, may I boast a possible 40% from a Echo 490... I'm sure y'all have gotten like 50% though.

Anyway, I'd consider a modified Echo 590 (60cc) to be equivalent to a roughly 70-75cc stock. But the Echo has a stroke advantage over Stihl and Husqy 70ccs to help pull big bars

I just checked, I have a vid of a stock 36mm stroke 372xp OE as I guess you guys call it (the old version) with an ok chain cutting 24 seconds, and a modified 590 37mm stroke also with an OKish chain doing 18.5s. Granted I think the 372 could have gone a smidge faster with technique, but probably not faster than 22s. Both in 18" Ash

To many variables honestly, I have ran 5 of the same model by the same porter, 1 was faster then the rest, 1 slower and 3 were about the same. As long as the 362 meets your needs keep it, if it don't go bigger. I wouldn't buy a bigger saw if the saw I had did 99% of what I needed. JMO

Comparisons without the same b/c don’t mean much at all. That’s coming from experience.

Yea, I know, like I said, I'm sure the husqy could be faster than it was.
