Final packing inspection on Husky line:
Lars: Hey Olaf, Are you sure you put a pin in that cylinder kit?
Olaf: (repeatedly wacks box on its side against shipping table top)
Ya Lars! I can always tell by the clinking sound when I bang the box sideways on the bench.

When things like this happen the whole production lot from the machine is usually the same way. Until someone changes a tool or makes an adjustment... Most wrist pins have a tight enough tolerance to the bore where it wont move...

Hmm me thinks contacting mahle might make more sense if this is true... since they make the cylinder and probably package it as well.

It seems your 288 build will be a slow builder Matt.
Look on the positive side, you got Bob to look through his whole c&p inventory ;)

Well...now we know what his inventory is :)

All 3 are KS cylinders...not mahle. I dunno if that makes a difference. I may keep the 3rd head. The marks are so light as to be negligible. But 1 and 2 are going back. When I repacked the heads I wrapped the pin in a kleenex. Problem solved. Dunno why KS can't figure that out.

Kinda like my new years resolution! I started strong on a exercise kick. 6 miles walking a day! Second week, 6 miles walking for 4 days. Week 3 -6 miles 2 days that week. Things aren't looking to good this week !:treadmill:

Opened a Chinese 372 head yesterday

Cheapest of cheap.

Guess what I found....a wrist pin wrapped in cellophane that couldn't possibly hurt anything....and undamaged plating.

I dunno....I just dunno why it's so hard for a premium company to make a small change to their packaging policy so as to make sure this particular issue never happens again.

Still waiting on that plane ticket and back rub.....

You should just switch to echos. Problem solved. ;)

Welp....been a year and a half. Husky keeps swearing they are gonna send me a coupon for a back rub. I have yet to receive said coupon.

What I did receive.... is more of the same.

Am I gonna run it....yes I am. Because KS keeps packing these things like this from the factory and if I want a new head...this is what I'm gonna have to live with. It doesn't matter how many replacements they send out. They will all be like this. Its really stupid because a piece of tissue paper wrapping the wrist pin saves this kind of thing.

I would recommend returning the *s-word back to Husqvarna.
That's the only way they'll learn, that being said, they may not be interested in changing the way they pack the package anyway.
Glad I quit the chainsaw hobby, much less stress nowadays.

The problem is with the cylinder manufacturer. They might make a better product than hyway and meteor but they are too lazy and cheap to put a piece of foam or packaging in there like meteor or hyway.
