Picked up a nice 044 yesterday

Well I must be addicted...or was I already and didn't realize it until now?

Anyhow...I rebuilt this saw for a customer about a year ago. Unfortunately that customer passed away and a friend of his was asking us to sell the saw for him...lucky for me I was right there and we made the sale. Not sure if it's a steal but I got it for $500. Being rebuilt with a new cylinder, piston, gasket set and full tune up I couldn't resist...plus I knew who did the work.

Came with a 28" bar so I took the 32" light off my 441 and put it on this 044.
Has a good max flow and dual port on it. Gonna be a future candidate for port work.

To be honest I never checked haha Plus I forgot how to tell Wasn't it with how the top fins are routed?

Oh DUH! lol! I have no clue...when I rebuilt it at the time I had no idea there was a 10 and a 12 mm.

Start with Serial Number if it's there.

044 ser. # X29583701 or below = 10mm wrist pin, above= 12m wrist pin

Thanks! Looked up the registration....it's been in my town as a professional logging saw its whole life. Been rebuilt twice I believe and still on the same lower end since 98. haha

I've felt it a few times. haha No decomp....more advance....only saw that has ever ripped a pull cord out of my hand.

Black lever is early 10mm. They switched to red lever for later 10mm and very early slant fin 12mm's. Later 12mm 044 was back to black lever I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My absolute favorite saws. I had 3 of them- just sold one but they may be another one in the works[emoji17]. Damn cad
