Does Oregon make a 3/8 8 pin small spline rim? Or does anyone make this?
If so, please point me in the right direction.

I believe DD has them on eBay if I remember correctly. Think there Danzco not Oregon though. I know Oregon makes a .325 8 pin small spline rim

OK. I will check with him. Thanks.
I have a couple of the .325 8 pin Stihl micro spline rims.

Yessir. Thanks Bill. This would be for the Dolmar 6100 that has a Oregon type drum on it. I believe it is 3/8 7 pin small spline.
I think I found it on Ddaves site.

I bet you don’t hardly notice the difference between the 7 and 8 on that saw. Seems to have plenty O Powah. Why switch to .325 ?

I am not sure, because I haven't tested it yet.
But I think in theory with a ported saw, faster chain speed, thus faster cuts.
Depends on your chain imo

The 8 pin would do the faster chain speed, No?
If it bogs the saw down too much in rpm because it does not have the torque to pull it... or the chain is too aggressive then no. The saw will be able to handle a more aggressive chain with a 7 pin. But if you try a less aggressive chain with the 8 pin, it might be faster. You’ll have to experiment and time the cuts.

I don't like the 8 tooth sprocket on my large frame Dolmar's, they can pull it no problem but the chain is just racing over the wood instead of taking a bite.

I almost exclusively buck turkey oak logs, very dense wood.
You may get different results bucking other wood species.

I like to go a little more aggressive on the rakers to utilize my saws power and gain cutting speed, works fine for me.

But, yeah best to try it Yourself - one sprocket won't matter much in regards of funds.
