Does Oregon make a 3/8 8 pin small spline rim? Or does anyone make this?
If so, please point me in the right direction.
I bet you don’t hardly notice the difference between the 7 and 8 on that saw. Seems to have plenty O Powah. Why switch to .325 ?Yessir. Thanks Bill. This would be for the Dolmar 6100 that has a Oregon type drum on it. I believe it is 3/8 7 pin small spline.
I think I found it on Ddaves site.

Duh, I brain farted and it stinks...lolNo sir. switching from 3/8 7 pin to 3/8 8 pin.
Duh, I brain farted and it stinks...lol
Well, it has been cold latelylol, does this mean you had your head up your ...
I am not sure, because I haven't tested it yet.
But I think in theory with a ported saw, faster chain speed, thus faster cuts.
If it bogs the saw down too much in rpm because it does not have the torque to pull it... or the chain is too aggressive then no. The saw will be able to handle a more aggressive chain with a 7 pin. But if you try a less aggressive chain with the 8 pin, it might be faster. You’ll have to experiment and time the cuts. The 8 pin would do the faster chain speed, No?
I don't like the 8 tooth sprocket on my large frame Dolmar's, they can pull it no problem but the chain is just racing over the wood instead of taking a bite. The 8 pin would do the faster chain speed, No?
