Oh ok... I wouldn't think that the first 562s' recoil starters were that bad.
They strengthened them in the later saws supposedly. But mine still wrecked the pawls. Learned my lesson don’t plug the decomp on a ported 562 with close to 190psi lol. Stock saw it’s probably fine.

Also, use the decomp even if you don’t need it on the 562. The starter is the weak link when the compression is increased from what I’ve seen.

Yes. The starters do not like high compression. I have spare pulleys on hand. Someone made a 357 pulley work somehow, but I haven't had time to mess with it.

A few weeks back I had a chance to mess with that junk yard 562 again... The power was real smooth and it held a decent rpm through some had wood:). After about 2 hours into cutting, My gas tank anti vibe spring broke in half... took it back to the garage and i was missing 4 cutters off of my chain!!

Yikes Austin. Good to hear the saw is still running well...
New chain time. Shorten the chain and make a 16" out of what you have left...
