I just cut one and took a small bag of the green fruit. I'll plant them behind my house. See if they grow.

Its black walnut.

And, wait until they fall off the tree. Then collect a half bushel and pile them somewhere in your yard. The squirrels will distribute them all over. Watch carefully when you cut the grass first time next spring.

My friend Bob would do that and mark the new seedlings with a stick.
