Kinda depends here....Was the OP carrying his saw in or just asking for a 3/8 chain for a 20" bar? Here I prefer for the customer to bring in their saws so I can verify their setups especially if they are new to me as I keep records of the saws and setups. I have numerous times found miss-matched components.

Fair comment. Not clear if the OP mentioned the problem, or if the dealer noted him coming in frequently for the same part; might be different people at the counter.

You sound like a dealer that might ask.

Sorry men. I have bought the saw there and I use to give my name and get a new chain and be gone. Now new people but i didn't think and check. My thinking is still 3/8 = .325 , but I just counted DL and wouldn't 81 DL on a 74 DL 20 inch bar tell me something? But Hey I'm not the sharpest barble.

You can also look at the bar and match up the DL for the chain.
Just mentioning it.

Stihl .325 bars are:
20"=81 d.l.
18"=74 d.l.
16"=67 d.l.
No lo-pro bars for the 029.
Can you put up a pic of what you have?

You can get a 16" lp bar and chain setup (3/8 lp) from the great white north.

Do you have a link?
Also what sprocket?
Why?
The kit comes with bar, chain, sprocket and is a complete setup.
