To be honest I am not sure. It looks clean, but the muffler it came off took a good smack from a tree, but I dont think it would have done anything like that. The guy I got that saw off of didn't seem like the muffler hacking type.
Copy all. I only asked because it looks like that cutout is going to blast your brake flag and/or clutch cover with exhaust. I would keep the opening in the muffler away from that area if it were my saw, I don’t like melting muh stuff...lol

Nice looking build so far BTW.

Back at it today with some parts in.

Seal tapped into the back of the oil pump to match stock tolerance.

I usually use a thin sheet of plastic, stole this from a light bulb package. Grease it up and roll it over the crank. Helps slide the seal into place without rolling the seal on the step up

No dust shield on the 262. The original versions had a thin metal flat washer between the sprocket and the oil pump, and then they switched to a clutch driven pump that eliminated the washer. I think the transition was around 1993 or 94.
