Great work! Slabs look really nice, what species of wood is that?

Is that your 090 in the pictures?

Pretty stuff, and any ideas what you want to make with it?

They are beasts for sure. You need to get that baby on the mill!

I just find and cut. My mate is the craftsman. If behaves during drying hopefully a few dining tables.

Unless I find something really massive I will stick with the choice of ported 660, 661,395 or the 084 for starters.

Gday gents. Just dusting off my old thread. Been very quiet of late with regards to chainsaws and milling. But suddenly she's firing up again.
The latest victim was awesome. First cut with the 661 and the next was out of range. No stuffing about and saddled up the 090. The first time I have used it for milling. Wholly smokes is it a great saw for milling. But it makes the 660 look like an amateur at drinking fuel [emoji15][emoji12]. Wasn't long before we found the limits of the mill so I am going to make some new legs to use the 54" bar a bit better. Anyways, let the pics roll.

Had to block this one up so I could mill the other. A fresh rebuilt 084 with 36" was a great way to block it [emoji1360]

Ended up with 4 of these bad boys. Would have liked to take more but lack of time , light and sharp chains killed that idea. Still, a great haul at last minutes notice. Happy campers. [emoji16][emoji482]

Tell him NO and GFY! Nice saws and beautiful work.

Well when I got there he has made a half arse attempt at blocking it up. I had to drop fresh cuts as I couldn't follow his crap.

This week I found an ally supplier that sold nearly the same rails as the mill I have. Therefore I could make longer rails to suit the 54" bar. [emoji16][emoji1360]

Can see the black bars there. They were the original ones.

Going back out to Ballarat to finish slabbing the stump. Should be good to make round coffee tables from it [emoji1360]

Saws bigger than you mate.

Tip on the frame for the alaskan. Make a couple more cross braces out of the same ali, will stiffen it up and help with balancing is cut is abit smaller.
