Only thing I don't like about them is the deflector sucks, it's way too small and you get hit by crap. Perhaps a larger one could be fitted from the shindaiwa 242. Other than that minor problem it's a great trimmer imo.

Why? Mine has been trouble free for 4 years now.

Nothing personal with the 4 mix , I just like how a 2 cycle spools up for me , my FR350's for sure when clearing heavy stuff .
When I work those machines I'm on and off the throttle , cuts thru stuff like a sythe from side to side , a 4 mix would never work well for me as the spool up and momentum is too slow .
I'm able to lay stuff over in the same direction to keep the clearing neat and easy to move .

My FS111RX will turn 9100 rpm with 8" of .095" string out each side of a Speed Feed 400 head.

Yes the new models have a lower cut off speed. The old ones had around 10200-10500 rpm and the new ones have a cut off speed of around 9500 rpm.

A lot isn't going to like that and may try and swap to old coil. Only lose the data port

I'm genuinely curious why you'd need any more RPMs in a 4-Mix engine.

Really not more than the 10,4K it was. When cutting deep grass like on our dam i could see where I need that extra 1000 before the limiter. I'm going to ask Stihl maybe tomorrow. Im sure they had a reason.

This is a 131. The kill wires join in the plug. And there's no cable with ramp for the throttle.
