Thanks for the Details Doc!

Deets, I think some of all of that.

Thanks Mike, because if anyone knows about these things, you do!

Very exited about this build as my CFB Hybrid is one of my favorite saws. Using a piston that is both larger (diameter) and lighter than stock OEM should result in an awesome product. Plus, there's some other stuff!!!

When I had to choose between another ported 460, or another ported Hybrid, I definitely favored another Hybrid, and the light weight of the modified 272 piston just made the decision a no brainer.

Well, I think I'm ready to see the Doctor! The 044 crank in in the case, chain adjuster, oiler, clutch and flywheel are all installed, as are the rubber AV bushings. Installing anything else would get in the way of the P+C installation.

I have learned to always put that little chain brake pivot with the spring on before I install the bake band, and always install the brake band before installing the clutch drum. Hopefully, next time I'll remember to install the sprocket before the clip and retainer, but that was just an error!

So far I have not had problems with the AM stuff, and I don't have any OEM clutch drums.

If it fails, not very hard to replace.

I've milled a good amount of wood with my MS 710 (King Kong) w/o any problems. If it works, I use it.

I've also had no problems with the Oilers. My biggest gripes are with the chain adjusters and carbs, and I always go OEM with the piston pin bearing.

Chainbrake parts suck aftermarket if there anything like 394/5 ones. I ended up replacing half the am parts in brake assembly with oem to get it to work properly.

For you port nerds out there (like me), this jug was done a bit different.

Modified 272 piston to keep reciprocating assembly as light/lighter than an 044 assembly.

Mike likes to really lean on saws, so this jug is timed at 103.5/122 with a rounded intake floor from 76-80.

Goal is an o44 with 046 torque.
I noticed that intake port looks very nice looked like you made it pretty wide?

On the 440s, the linkage parts are OK, but I've had to bend the large spring to get it on. Also, you have to drill the inside of the brake flag or it will not fit on the post (found that out the hard way, the drilled hole is larger on the outside, so it looks OK)!!!

I also lube the crap out of the control levers, this one has Vaseline and Fluid Film on it. I also put a little piece of 660 fuel line on the end of the choke control lever if I'm going to use a OEM carb. Makes them work a lot better! (see pic)

I lowered floor. The width is 100% stock 460.

The 460 jugs have very wide factory ports.
OK makes sense they must be quite a bit wider than the 044 ms440s I've owned a few but never had a 460 or ever hand the pleasure of working on one some day I my though. Lol. Very nice work you do indeed.

Unfortunately, we spent so much time trying to figure out why the chain brake would not work that we ran short on time, but we did get it running and made a few cuts.

Saw is strong, I'm real happy. Al may have a vid he can post.

When I got home I threw a 460 brake flag on it, and it works perfectly!!! But the flag is too wide, so I ordered a couple of 440 flags.
