I think that's a fair assumption in those circumstances.
Perhaps we'll also never get a straight answer if it was liability or general profit issues that sunk it. If the former, how does SS survive?

Exactly...and like you said, we'll probably never know.

C02B4804-91BB-4DED-A644-CF0919C5C569.jpeg Took the plunge after the finned fishy one suggested that I look into a kinetic splitter. I took off the log lifter and can easily use one hand to operate, without any modifications. Its easy to defeat the safety lever if you really want to, and I’m only running mine at 2600rpm. WOT is 3750rpm.

I love this thing !!!

Log Splitters Direct
Got the bundle, but the lift started to bend with the first half round that I put on it, so, off she came
I was giving the log lift from Split Second some serious thought last year/year before last for my SuperSplit HD. I guess they just need to be braced a little better and maybe thicker wall/thicker gauge steel used.

I'm going to have to make templates of the design and use better steel. The one that was on the Special Edition that we bought off of Doug lasted about 4 cords. Then I had a 22"L x 18"W Hedge round move sideways while I was moving it around and bent the chit out of the ratchet arm and somewhat bent the lift arms... Either buy new parts or fab up better ones...
