I've made a little more progress. I had to take some off the oem piston skirt for clearance and used a oem base gasket. The squish was way too tight at .015 for my comfort without using the gasket.

If you got the Cross P&C, didn't it also come with a Huztl piston?

Both my Cross P&Cs are running well, but my pistons did not have your advance design feature! That is precious!

Yes, I have the extra piston. I just used the oem because it was my original plan. I'm saving the double pinned piston for when I experiment with a turbo.

I've actually got this thing up and running today. I'm actually quite proud of myself. I was expecting it to explode.

It is always a nervous moment when you first start a saw. I just put 2 more AM 660 cases together today. It never goes as smoothly for me as those videos (thy hammer and socket, they comfort me)!!!

Just a quick update on the parts that were missing in my 660 kit. Winter shutter, 2 bolts for the inner muffler to cylinder, top cover bushings, 2 carb nuts, one nut for the spike and the bar studs were one wide shoulder and one narrow. Really not too bad for kit saw that you expect to have issues.

I finally put a bar on it today. I haven't put it in wood yet, but it seemed to tune in well. The Stihl bar is upside down as a distress signal.

But your chain is up side down on the bar!
Yes, but I threw away the flywheel key accidentally. I lapped the flywheel with some valve grinding compound on the crank and can now make it run in reverse with a few turns and a impact. Or I can lay on my back and saw upside down.
;)

I actually cut some cookies with this thing today. It runs really good and the carb tuned in fine.
