My saw arrived a few weeks ago, just been too busy to do any thing with it. I made time today. Dot dot dot.

First thing I did was to see if I was missing anything and started looking the parts over for finish.

Throughly impressed with the crankcase, fuel tank, covers and really like how the bags were labeled for locations.

I had no flywheel key and did not have the e-clips for a few chain brake parts. No biggie.

I had the crank installed in just matter of minutes. I put the crank in the freezer and sat the crankcase out in the sun while I was opening all the bags.

Who ever packed this saw for shipping did an outstanding job. :campeon:

With a cold crank and ambient temperature on the case halves, I literally pushed the bottom end together by hand. I had a little trouble with the pto side seal and ended up taking it out.

So bottomend is together, spins good, i'm going for the piston and cylinder now .

Nice looking squish band and combustion chamber. The bevel on all the ports need some attention. Transfers were pretty rough, exhaust had a pocket on the pto side that had me concerned, and the intake....... well??? Hmmm? I don't think the pictures show what I'm seeing holding this cylinder in my hand.

I dug around and found a Mahle no decomp 066 cylinder for comparison. I haven't looked at a 1122 series saw for quite some time.

I mapped out both cylinders to show a comparison of the two.

Notice the smoothness of the oem vs. the aftermarket. The map shows the uneven flaws of the aftermarket. My point here is, it is not an issue if a person was to port they cylinder or at minimum bevel all the ports.

So here it is...
With a degree wheel and a quick peak. The cylinder I have

Exh- 97
Transfers-127
Intake-87

Squish is .031 or .77mm. With a gasket.

I have some other numbers on my port mapping using the Lambretta software. Please look over and ask questions. The are some differences.

I beveled the intake port, cleaned up and smoothed the transfers, took some high spots out of the lowers and fixed the exhaust. I used a worn out diamond burr on the transfers, all the sand cast marks would literally flake off when touched.

I had to do this as I want to run the saw.

It is just the cylinder that come with the saw, not the cross performance. Give me a number you want the exhaust lowered to and I'll do some math.

This saw is together and running. Broke the freakn chain brake, it's my fault, I need to locate another. So far

1.) I do not like how the flywheel fits the crank.
2.) The chain brake assembly kicked my tail.
3.) I have several rubber pieces as extra.
4.) The chain adjuster, I don't think will last.

Well........ It is complete and running, all stock. I've ran it a few heat cycles. The fuel cap leaks.:(

I'm really not sure what to do with it. Need to get it in some wood.

Any suggestions fellow OPE members?
