Here is a part that everyone that does muffler mods searches for, and yet no one in the world has taken the time/effort to stamp out a few thousand of these at pennies a piece. Seems like a no-brainer to me, so why Hutzl or someone else done it?

Stamp it out for $0.20... sell for $5 and everyone is happy, especially the seller

He's not the only one. And I believe you can order just defectors from husqvarna for the 288.

I use the 288 deflector. I pay 9 a piece I believe.

Since I am in Canada, those $9 deflectors end up costing $40 CAD a piece :(

I have to go to the dealer tomorrow - if I think of it I will ask what he is charging.

These are the deflectors that joe @Red97 makes. This is one of his large deflectors. You can just trim them to fit and either screw them on or weld them.
I'm sure he also makes a couple smaller sizes. This particular deflector is stainless. I'm hoping to get a bunch more deflectors from joe at the MI gtg in a few weeks.IMG_4894.JPGIMG_4895.JPGIMG_4896.JPG

If you know how to form sheet metal they are easy to make .
Yep, but for 99% of guys that dont have the skills/equipment, pretty easy to spend $20 and have a handful of deflectors ready to go.

If I could find a small muffler deflector for my 024 muffler. The saw would probably sell better. This is my first attempt at a dual port muffler.

All a defector does is try to stop burning the paint off .I've seen any number of them from hoods to pieces of tubing including little megaphones .Do they do any good except look cool ?
