I asked my rep about it last year. The explanation I got was since Stihl was investing SOOO much into their battery line and in attempts to appeal to the female customers they threw the guy in there. I voiced my opinion on how dumb it was... I'm sure it made waves.

I love the dependability and handling of my Stihl 044. I just wish there was an easy way to get a little more power out of it with out sending it out for the port job. I feel like its not far off just needs a little more help.

Have you tried a Base Gasket Delete, Dual Port Muffler, HD II Filter and a Timing Advance ?
