41856A3B-EA86-4017-B39E-D35D7A98B1F3.jpeg accidentally cut the hinge on a large white oak which added this custom oil tank vent to my 441, along with a crushed rear handle and air cleaner box. Saw was still running until I got the tree off it and figured out how to shut it down.Threw some epoxy in but looking for a more permanent fix (short of replacing the case). Can it be tig welded and will it hold up?

Thanks

I would think it could be welded. @srcarr52 . I also think you can just replace the case half and not the whole case

Lol I can get a 372 down to the cases in about 15 minutes. That sucks about the saw getting crushed though. Reality of working production in the woods. Things break sooner or later.

Yeah, the 441 is an oddity- has a throttle cable and bunch of air filter box crap that you have to wade through to get it apart.

I got another another 441 with a leaking oil cap because a section of the hole is broken out...any ideas on fixing it?

I bought these saws to run on my wallenstein processor, so I was thinking about adding remote fuel and oil cells...worried about pressures (valve, petcock and quick release should help) and temp for the oil as it might get too viscose without the heat from the engine...anyone added remote tanks?

Mine is a winch version- they have a new model that is more like a standard processor.

Only reason I bought it is because most of my log supply is 20-24” plus diameter and this is the only processor under ~50k thst will handle the size wood that I have. If doing over, I would go built rite blockmaster and cheap splitter to start and then upgrade to a built rite or other high quality splitter.
