Dear OPE Friends
I have a stock MS361 that desperately needs the muffler opened up and the carb adjusted. Please help me out with parts I may need. I would like to put at least a spark arrestor screen on and perhaps a deflector if I absolutely must. Where can I find the parts I need? Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can cut the muffler open, rip out the guts and put it back together with my limited skills. However, I can drill some holes in the metal and cover it with mesh as needed. Thank you in advance for your replies.

You can do a Lakeside style mod using the TS400 screen and clip, part numbers 4223 141 9000 and 4223 141 6600. You will need to braze in a pipe with 9/16" ID, the screen slides down into it and the clip holds it in.

I like to use the Husky 288XP deflector and screen, I know the deflector is 503078301, can't remember the screen.

Does anyone have any pics or better description of the old lakeside muffler? It was lost in the great AS crash of 2014.

Mike does amazing work on muffler mods.
Agreed. He could probably set up a business and sell these for over $100 apiece and never be able to make them fast enough. One has to wonder why somebody isn't already doing it. I once saw a muff modified 361 out cut a brand new 362 at a GTG.
