It was ran with a loose muffler apparently and melted the top cover and seems like it warped the plastic divider that runs between the carb and the cylinder.

I'm going to tear it completely down and start over. Should be a fun cold weather project.

Looks like they took you for 80 bucks, LOL. Clearly, you got your moneys worth with that purchase. A stihl of a deal in my estimation. Should have a Great runner for less than half the cost of a new one.

I found an old 16" .325" bar in 3003 I didnt know I had. It's in great shape, just needs some paint. I've got an 8 pin rim to run with the 16".

Welp, it's all tore down, save for splitting the case.

What's the verdict on the slug & jug??

I guess I have to ask an important question. Why on earth would anyone beat up a $650 chain saw (after sales tax) this way and literally destroy it? Is our society today that nuts?

Cuz the guy making $10 an hour on probation just doesn't give 2 chits about anything more than having a job to keep him out of jail until he is off paper.

$480+tax with an 18" here, but that's neither here nor there. It was run soooooo long with a loose muffler

You have to check skirt to cylinder wall clearance to know if slug is ok. Your intake skirt is worn. The cylinder is fine and you have Hyway pistons.

Yeap, I sold you one of the popups, and I've saved one for my own saw. Now I have 3 cylinders with no pistons lol. Side note, I have 5 more popup pistons coming.

I couldnt have used the cylinder anyway. My saw is the "revised" version.

You should see the condition some cars with less than 5,000 miles on them come in for stuff.
Ive seen 50K plus vehicles with 1000 miles trashed out worse than my beater truck with 190k, that gets washed once a year.

And im not talking working vehicles. Im talking soccer mom grocery getter.

Soccer mom Van's are probably the worst! Sniveling unruly brats, dropping food, pissing their pants, and wiping boogers all over it. I can only imagine lol
