I found it hard to believe too as its a class leading pro saw but apparently it is. I still think Stihl will replace it with something in the future. The trend these days is away from larger displacement saws and its the 25cc-80cc that are the sellers. Someone said a new 241 was coming (242?) but not sure how credible that is.

Big thread on AS about it. I think it's legit "while supplies last" then no more 241. I sure like mine...

Listed in Aus as while stocks last. This may a region only thing though. They don’t offer the bang for buck the 261 does but I’d take on any day over a 261

According to the state contract vendor, the 241 is "as supplies last". For what it's worth, he is showing a 400i in the system. He also has several 462s coming in! We have a 241 and that thing rips for what it is.

Just to bring some of the AS thread info over here, the further rumor taken from European forums is that the 241 will be getting a 261-style weight-shedding refresh with a new style clutch cover...but it may be a Euro-only (or at least not North America) deal since folks here tend to go cheaper (251) or bigger (261).

What are the supposed advantageous it has over the 261c?o_O
I haven't encountered many 50cc saws that can run with the 261c...

I will now report that the MS241CM has been removed from Stihl Canada's site. When I looked before with the conversation happening on AS it was still listed but it's gone now. Will be limited to stock at the dealers, DC's must be out.

Weight and size. But most people want "power" so I don't think the 241 has ever sold very well. Thankfully I rebuilt my toasty one and have 2 at the moment. :campeon:
