Hey Studs,

Bought this 261c about a yr ago for a little over a $100.
The saw was exceptionally clean although the bar & chain was greater rougher than a night in jail, so I bought a new 16 inch bar & square chisel-chain.

Never ran it much till this past few days...BUT boy does this rascal sling the chips and zips through the hardest of wood(locust, hickory white oak) like so much confetti!!
I am really surprised at the performance and guts this saw has.
I thought it might be a bit quicker than my 026's, but its not even close!
I'm almost convinced that I could slam a 20 inch bar on it & run semi-skip with my .325 set up and get through "most" big wood!
How many of you guys own a 261c and what is your experience/thoughts on this saw?
Btw...my 1st saw was new Poulan Pro PP5020AV a 50cc saw, and I believe the 261c would run circles around it!!
Excuse the sorry pics...

Ported MOFO 261cm
Seems to be a tick stronger and faster than my ported 026s. Could be due to slightly larger jug.
Saw is not even broken in yet. Only about 5 or 6 tanks. I call these half-tanks because the 261 fuel tank is smaller than 026 tank.
So I have about 10 more to go before I suspect this saw to be at its potential.
Running 32:1 91 e-free fuel.

I run a 20" full-comp .325 on my 50cc saws without any problems. I personally feel it covers most of my cutting just fine without needing the weight of a bigger saw.

How long does a tank last compared to 026? Better mileage?

I can't compare it to a ported 026, but my tree monkey 261 with the strato intact does in fact get pretty darned good milage. It usually surprises me how long it'll run before refueling.

I think the 261 tank is 1/3 less than my 026 tank. So I get longer runtime with 026 than with 261.
And I was running a 16" 3/8 setup in the vid.

I don't think so Wayne. I am pretty sure my 026 tank is bigger.

Was there any difference in fuel capacity between Ver 1 and Ver 2?

Don't know why the fuel tank on my 261 seems smaller to me than the fuel tank on my 026.
