I got my new vise today. High quality vise.
I sharpened about 10 chains. MUCH easier with the vise.

Lol. My truck, I just use the Toyota plug to see if anyone notices. Conversation piece. Lol
Those chains are Stihl Green safety chains. They came with my 036. I got a dozen of them. Guy just used the chain until dull, then bought a new chain. Lol
Plenty of teeth left in them. Just gotta sharpen them a little more. You guys are both on your A games. [emoji106]

jeff i use a little jewelers vise to hold my vise i can turn my knobs 360 degrees

Ok. I will look into one of those. The way I had it set up worked fine. Only need about a half turn, and they loosen enough to let the chain slide through. I know you can fit 4 teeth on top to sharpen at a time, but I was doing just 3 at a time. I like working more toward the center of the vise.
Much easier and much more effective than sharpening on the bar.

i have about 24 foot roll of that stihl chain in .58

Is it any good? I got about 8 loops of semi, and 4 loops of full.
Shows Stihl on the side of tooth, with a number 3 on the part that contacts with rim sprocket. It also shows 3/8. I am hoping it is 3/8 .050 18" loops.
