I have a Makita DCS520 that will start and mostly idle but at WOT it surges like it's momentarily running out of gas (runs for a second then stalls then runs then stalls etc.). I cleaned the carb and verified that both the high speed and low speed circuits are working (carb cleaner squirts out when I spray into the needle passages), it has a new fuel filter and fuel line and the intake gaskets all look in good shape. The flapper and diaphragm appear to be ok (both flexible). It got better when I opened the high speed needle more but it won't go away. I don't think it's a clogged tank vent because I loosened the filler cap while it was running and it didn't get any better.
