Too tough to follow all these saws. That's another reason why I stick to Stihls. Lol
More simpler for me

Intresting how they've brought details of older Dolmar saws to the design of this saw! These are from the 60's.

Does this have a mag case or is it plastic/clamshell like the 291/455?

Yes and Yes from what I understand. There's a split mag mini-case around the crank, and then a plastic housing around that, which includes the oil tank, etc.

Not quite a clamshell, and not quite a full mag case. Somewhere in between, which seems fitting for a farm/ranch saw.

I kinda like the was this saw is built. It seems simikar to the husky 350 but with a vertical mini mag case inside the plastic housing. Kinda the best of both worlds i see. Im sure its cheaper to replace the plastic chassis over a full mag case like a 6100.

Very interesting. Guess I've been living under a rock the past year. Jonsered gone and now this? Any updates on these for durability since the original review? I am thinking I would like to get a smaller designated 20" saw and thus looks quite nice. Would only use maybe 8-10 tanks a year. I don't like wrenching, sharpening, fueling in the woods. A five saw plan would help with that even more. Just leave rhe 6400 with a 24. Dull a chain, throw a chain, run out of gas, just grab another saw. And I just like how it looks with a bunch of saws strapped to the ATV.

That's how I roll. Should have a backup saw or 2 with you anyway. I can cut almost a truckload with 1 saw. I finish the load out with the other.

This saw impressed me a lot when I ran it up in Boonville with The Cutting Edge. Forget Farm Boss. Farm King is right! I’ve got a ms 310 and 390. And I like my 310 With a muffler model alot wearing an 18 inch bar
