Nice score! My search for a 272 has come up with no results locally, determination will be the victor.

Where did you get those scotchbrite hones ? they must work great for removing transfer.

Got them here, they have a shop at the outlet mall. Boxes of various shapes and sizes. The store is cross between harbor freight, northern tool, and good Ace. https://www.workshoptools.com

I can't find them on the website, maybe I can talk the wife into going over that way tomorrow, and see if I can get the info off the box.

Easiest cylinder clean up I ever done. Those buffs worked well, but the scoring wasn't real bad. Going to finish tearing it down to bare bones. The way I got it was in a box already apart. Starting to compile my shopping list, OEM gasket set, seals, oil pump oring, and a meteor piston for now. Going to order some of the AV wrenches as well.

If the AV’s are like the ones on a 288 you don’t need a wrench for them. A pair of needle nose pliers work well for removal. I use the mount screw to install them by threading it in til it bottoms out in the threads. Never had problem replacing them in this way.
