I'm putting a set of caber rings in my 372 today and noticed some white on one side of the spark plug tip porcelen, I seem to remember reading that this is a sign that the decomp is leaking, is this fer true?
This saw ran great and showed no signs of a leak, the reason for the new rings was it only showed 148 lbs of comp with a base gasket delete, the old rings had a .020 gap, the new ones have .008.

Wel wouldn't ya know, there's two different thickness rings for the 372, I got the thick ones and my piston has the thin grooves.
I called down & ordered the thin rings, had em throw in a new comp release too, it was only $10, my dealer charged me $30 for the last one.

Just delete your decomp and be set for down the road.

The decomps are not under a vacuum condition. They could however fail and let pressure out of the chamber.

That's something I had not considered, that they are not under vacuum.
