Everyone needs a good kick in sack once in awhile, I got mine a yesterday and another today. Tilton Equipment will cease operations at the end of December barring any unforeseen changes.


What this means to those of you unfamiliar with Tilton is that Total bars will be gone from the US market except for a few random bars that are being imported by oddball companies.

I wouldn't sweat it too bad. Tilton is only a distributor of those bars which are manufactured in Japan. Another distributor will buy the rights to sell them here in the states.

already tried, took the last of their 20" D009 bars along with a couple more.

Total is good, when the Tsumura label goes on the bars the price kinda doubles lol. I'd stock up and buy what you can in popular sizes, they have a good following.

they had a distributor lined up to buy them out but it fell thru, along with an individual that wanted to buy them out.....couldnt get out of them who it was that they were in talks with

One of the parties wanted to keep it going and also sell aftermarket Jonsered parts-but they could not put it all together. Many on AS spoke poorly of Tilton Equipment-They always have treated US wonderfully-and are still WAY better than the Husky driven dog and pony show we have to deal with now for Jonsered!

We are lucky to be able to deal with another Oregon dist. in our area and get no more than we have to from PD.

Hayward makes PD's distribution of Dolmar look good. We sat down and figured up haywards fill rate a few months back...it was in the 30% range. I wish PED had been able to keep Jred....I had a great Rep and they took pretty good care of me, hayward on the other hand, I have only seen my sales rep once since they took over and talked to him once on the phone. The phone call was to threaten me with putting in another dealer unless i took on the jred wheeled products....told him it wasnt happening and i havent heard from him since

TROOF! Pace is our RedMax distributor, my boss and I both came out of a dealership that was very successful with RedMax. After we left their sales started slipping and they eventually dropped them altogether. The RedMax rep approached us about taking them on and we almost said no because we didn't want to have to deal with Pace.

Does this mean that Total bars are going to be extinct??? Jeez I hope not! I have one so far and LOVE it! Was planning to get all of my saws set up with Totals over the coming months....
