Not really an OPE thing....

I just scrounged a nice looking kerosene heater. I decided to put a new wick in before filing the tank, everything went back together fine I think. It runs but smokes like crazy. What did I do? It was completely empty and I filled it to half with brand new kerosene also.

Is the burner cylinder clogged? You have oem wick and not aftermarket? Your not running grade 2 red kerosene are you?

It's K1, i believe the wick is aftermarket since I bought it at home depot. Not sure on the burn cylinder? I'll have to pull it back apart tomorrow morning

Only time mine smokes is when I leave the door open and the little paddle pushed down for lighting. So maybe you have some extra air getting in there too?
