I’m in need of do and dont’s with this saw. Very good friends saw and he’s been having starting issues.

It’s an auto tune and muffler pull shows piston is scoring but saw once running runs and cuts but just struggles to start. It’s in modified. I haven’t done anything yet as I just pulled muffler. I’m guessing bad fuel. Seems like a muffler mod would help a lot once a new piston is put in.

Check the flywheel side seal first.

Second place to look is at the intake boot.
I've seen a few that were folded over from the factory.
They will live for a while like this.
