Curious about this as well. Just got a used 2171 today in the mail. Similar markings on my saw.

Thanks for quick response. I figured 2008 but just don't know why 2002 would be on there as well.

I got rid of the ugly green gas cap and cat muffler. I put an aftermarket muffler on it. Compression is at 165 psi.
