Hello all, I have a jonsered 2145 I wanted to convert to a 2150. Pretty sure I have what I need but want to make sure. To make this happen all I need is a riser from a 350 and 350 p/c. The rest should be the same. I just converted a 350 to a 350/346 and wanted to use the old jug on something and this looked like a good candidate. Thanks. Mike

If you do get a bearing cap make sure it's threaded for the fine threaded bolts and not the coarse threaded one if you can. @Mattyo has some good videos you can watch.

I have a cap here on a junk case will check what it is. I have watched some of his videos and the 350 comparison thread. He spent alot of time on this model.

Just lemme know how I can help.

:)
I have the fine threaded cap. What's the difference between the fine and corse? Other then the threads. Is one better then the other and if so why?

Can you put a 346 head on a 2145 chassis?

Pretty sure the answer is yes. The husky 340 and likely 2140 have the bearing cap integral to the cylinder head. The other models dont....as long as you have a seperate bearing cap...the 346xp cylinder head will bolt right up.

Check out my 350 vids on youtube for more info.

Best to order all new hardware. Beyond the difference in the threads, there are differences in the length of the bolts. The bolts that went up into the 2145 jug are longer than the ones that secure the bearing cap, and will bottom out against the cylinder bolts. Also, you must use a sealer when installing the bearing cap.

Is the 2145 toast? If the 2145 is running, you have almost nothing to gain by converting it to a 2150. You can use the 346 top end. Pretty much a straight bolt on project. Only change you need to do is to shave the ribs that are molded into the case on the clutch side. They are easily removed with a utility knife. The port castings stick out a little farther on the 346 jug and the ribs will interfere with that.

I have nothing I just saw were t4driller has this saw for sale and it got me thinking thats all. Iam new to the husky jred. No one really has them in these parts. And I have heard of the 346 legendary performance. Thanks for the info and so what your saying is for future reference is if I find a running 2145 leave it that way.

I have found a good running 2145 for sale and plan to pick it up. Can someone tell me the difference between the 2145 and the 2152? Everything being equal, which would you choose? I'm looking for a light weight limbing saw or for something lighter than my ported 2159 for small wood.

2145 is plastic case and has a clamshell cylinder and a bottom bearing cap. A 350, or 2150, has a plastic case, bottom plate, and an aluminum riser to which a standard cylinder bolts onto. A 2152 is basically a 353, which is a mag cased saw with the same case as a 346

Damn that 2152 would of been it!
The 2150 will be easier to make in to a red 346 with just a cylinder change.
200 is more than I'd pay for a 2145.

Well, I'll ask him tomorrow if the 2152 is still for sale or pending. I'm going to pass on the plastic saws for now.
