Where I live in the middle of the bean field. You know what I am saying ;). They are everywhere.

I just never found any way I like them, so leave them be. But I never thought of using them for jerky.

I guess I could get a pic of the original deer jerky batch too. It's what my hot spicy batch was tweaked from.

We mix together all our own spices, liquids, etc. Then soak.
Nothing premade in bags etc.

1 3/4 lbs. chicken fingers that I am going to try to dry down. Got them soaking in fridge for about 12 hours. I did add 2 tbs. of brown sugar and one tbs. of soy sauce, and dash of red pepper to Eastman's original jerky spice.

I need to do Jerky soon. It has been a few years since I have done it. Ive done pork, beef, chicken and venison.

Normally I use Hi Mountain for my seasonings. Although my next stuff I do I will be getting them from our local butcher shop. They started selling their own seasonings that they use for their jerky and it is some outstanding stuff.

I have a Excalibur dehydrator, but I think my next jerky batch will be done on the smoker.

This batch turned out pretty tasty. When it was all done I was able to get it in one food saver zipper bag. I am starting to like this stuff.:D
