OMG. I take it that these OWBs are not very efficient.
Jeff, my daddy heats around 5000 square feet and occasionally 7000 if the garage radiant is turned on, with an outdoor wood boiler/furnace. On a real cold winter I felled cut and split 19 cord...he burnt every bit of it.

Wow. I am totally surprised and shocked at the amount of wood you guys burn. I may burn 2 cord this year. And I run my stove 24/7 during winter months.

Best wishes for you and the mrs.
Thank ya kindly. Everything was fine in the end. Back to the saws...

I agree with the folks talking about the over built 572, I feel they will make a 85-88cc saw out of it, then build a 395 replacement that will more than likely be auto tuning. That's the way they are going to go.

Gots to appease the enviromental gods ya kno.
I get 3 mi to a gal of diesel in my 400hp mixer truck.
Yet they are worried bout sum 4-7hp chainsaws. Unreal..

Let's don't get started with how bad cow farts are for the environment either. Nobody wants to talk about that.:tiburon:

I have been using jonsered 2188's as a full time logger for nearly 5 years. They have been extremely reliable for me and I really like the saws. But, I can only imagine a saw with similar displacement and a modern redesign + autotune would be amazing! 590xp? Red max version? I'll take 2.

The Stihl m-tronic saws run so nice and sip fuel, burn clean etc.

I too, love the old saws but with new tech and lighter units you can't go wrong.

The new huskys are going to be just as good.

Omg, I cant believe the amount of wood some of these OWB are using. I know it's not apples to apples but I installed a high efficiency Froling boiler in my house with 800 gal thermal storage tank and I'm heating 1850 sqft and domestic hot water. Average wood I burn is a face cord every 12 days when its below 40F. That means less than 6 full cord of wood from Oct 1 to May 1.

Anyways what I really wanted to know was, is the 3120 going awa or not? Has this been vetted out in the last 6 pages somewhere?

It seems like that is the case. Still available now, but not gonna be for sale the the US for long, it's no longer listed on husky's website. Already not for sale in Europe. That's what I've gathered anyway.
