Installing a Maxflow on an MS461

Two quick questions. 1) Do I have to trim the "flanges" to get it to seat correctly? 2) How do I get the nut out of the oem cover? Thanks.

On the back of the nut is two tabs to push in. Push in and pop it out. Not sure on the flanges. Someone else will chime in.

The foam will seat itself and seal off all the fines as long as you keep the nut tight.


Make sure you oil the filter....

Typically mine doesn't wear the cover...but I had to trim my filter cover a bit to get to my high side.

Yeah, the instructions even mention that you might have to trim the cover if putting it on an MS461. Hope the weather stays dry this weekend. I'd like to get this filter on and saw tuned. I have some 24+" oak and 18" hickory to buck up.

Leave the flanges, just tuck the foam inside the flange
