Did you reinstall the wrist pin bearing when you put the piston on?

So what should my next steps be?
  1. Checking rod and crankcase bearings.
  2. Order new piston and rings.
  3. Attempt to fix cylinder or use old ok one.
Any other suggestions?

The new p/c are smoked. At least you didn't ruin your oem jug (trying to interject some positivity here). Order a piston and crank seals and clean up the old oem jug.

Check your carb throttle plate for a missing screw. And I'd at least inspect the main crank bearings from outside for chunks of missing cage.
Is the cross piston exactly the same height as the oem one? Stick the wrist pin a half inch into each piston (connecting them together) and compare skirt and crown height

There's definitely crap down there.

This has escalated quickly...

So the question ive been dreading all night. What's involved in redoing the lower part of the case and what all do i need to order? And suggestions on where from.
Any specific tools?

Those chunks look like your piston skirt. It would be nice to find out what caused the damage. As others have said, you need to inspect the big end (of the rod) bearing and the crank bearings.

Very unfortunate situation you have found yourself in.

Splitting a case isn't extremely difficult. You would benefit from having a case splitter, a heat gun, a flywheel puller, and an assortment of hammers. Honestly, it may be in your best interest to send your saw off to one of the saw builders and pay them to refresh the bottom end.

I'd enlist the help of a nearby member, if possible. Splitting an 084 and installing bearings could be a bit overwhelming for a first timer. Just throwing it out there. No offense meant
