IMOA you have the top end off clean up the saw.
don't worry about junk falling into the crank case. once you get the saw clean
blow the case out with air, fill the case with gas, spin the bearings, dump the gas, blow it out again.
spin the crank to make sure no grit in bearings, do twice if needed once clean pour some 2 cycle oil on bearings spin them around.
any excess oil in crankcase is going to clear out once you start the saw.
clean the base with brake cleaner and apply thin coat of 518 to both surfaces install, done
I never use Loctite on cylinder bolts

I can't wait to get home to try and start her up. Any advise for the first startup?

Did I miss the pressure, vacuum test to figure out why the piston toasted in the first place?
Good luck on you build

It didn't toast, it was actually going pretty well. This was a chance to upgrade the top end.

So possible big setback one. Put everything back together let it rest 2 days. Started it up today it ran for about 2 minutes and then stalled. When I went to start it up again it turned over a few times and then would not turn over again . The Pistons seem stuck and it won't pull via the starter chord anymore. I removed the spark plug to see if I had hydrolocked it. It won't turnover even without the spark plug in any suggestions?

20160326_163250.jpg Using this improvised tool and a rubber mallet, i managed to unstick the piston. Im gonna try starting her again. Would it hurt to put some 2 stroke oil in the chamber to help keep her lubed up while i start her?

So is there anything else I can check without pulling the entire top and off again?

I'd like to tell you there is but I think you better pull it off. Did you get the piston in correctly? Arrow towards the exhaust?

Arrow is definitely pointed to the exhaust. She's not locked up any more. I can move the piston up and down by turning the crank (?) Thing near the Pull start. My finger is on it in the picture. 1459025948545946086740.jpg
