Yes M-Tronic Software Version 1.
I only saw one of those new MS 362, that we sold last week.
They changed the ECU, cylinder, the seperation between cylinder and carb, the piston rings and the pin.

Is this MS 362 made in germany?

I think these new MS 362 are on the way to the USA.
Those technical informations read like they had problems with the new style cylinder.
The put longer cooling fins on them and replaced the pin and bearing with carbon nitrite coated ones.
Also some more durable piston rings.

MS 362 are all MS 362 with the old cylinder/Clutch cover.
The changes between first non-Mtronic machines and the M-tronic machines aren't that big.
For example new MS 362 have the clutch developed for the MS 500i ;)

But the slanted fin MS 362 got a update.
So slanted fin MS 362 with the 10mm spark plug thread mean M-Tronic Version 3 on the MS 362 Version 2.
Slanted fin MS 362 with 14 spark plug means M-Tronic version 1

MS 362 with 10mm spark plug are produced since 10/2017

The made the M-Tronic version clearly visible on the german machines.
Its printed on the brake lever sticker ;)
Are you able to get a pic of the version 3 Mtronic sticker please

No offense, but 30% sound's a bit to optimistic for me without proper cylinder work. I've done many 261 in recent years and i measure well up to 35% gains over stock, ported with a squish cut. But 30%+ only with a muffler mod, i'm not sure.

@blsnelling has done a good comparison about 261 mod's

But yes, to answer your question, i've done that, with timing advance. The 462 responds pretty nice to that!

I talked to my dealer yesterday and asked him about the 462. He looked puzzled. He knows nothing about it. I had him call Stihl rep. His eyes opened wide. Asked him when they would be available in USA. He hung up and said Fall 2018. Then asked me how I knew about the saw. I just paused, laughed, and said it was all over the net. Lol

What you saw in the video is what you get. And that's not with even a timing advance. I spoke with Randy about the muff mods, and he said he didn't see a baffle in the stateside 261's. I found that odd since there is a large baffle in the euro mufflers. As you can see in my vid, you can open it up until there is a straight shot from the exhaust to the muffler exit port of less than 2 inches. The noise level increases drastically, but so does the power.

That 462 looks good! Have you a before and after timed with just an mm and timing advance?
