I've not seen the bottom end to be an issue on either the 460 or 461. Does the 462 have a smaller bearing? If not, I see this as a non-issue. I'd rather keep the 462 light.

There using 6202’s I believe. @mdavlee reported some issues the 460’s were having with the bearings I think but I’ll let him comment.

I just looked it up and the 460 and 461 are both using 15x35x13. I don't have an IPL for the 462. 6002 is 15x32x9.

6202 flywheel side and 6203 pto.

Size appropriate for the saw. Saw specific.

Heavier crank, rod + pistons, longer stroke, longer bars, etc.

The larger main bearings sold me on the 572. They kept the same weight as the outgoing 372 that had 6202’s while upgrading to 6203’s. Big improvement.

The German IPL wont show any bearing numbers.

It is possible the 462 has a very light rotating assembly, so the heavier bearings were not needed. Lots of possible variables.

I do not think it is as light as a 372. They were close to 14 lbs

Same weight as a 372 xtorq.

Which is why the husky engineers used 6203 bearings instead of 6202. Upgrade.

Huskies have more alphabet variations than I can keep track of. Can't count the # of time folks have told me a 372 is almost as light as an 044.

I’d love to try out both saws myself instead of talking about them and see what is the better saw in person. Talk is cheap.

It is obvious they needed a larger bearing because they build a heavier saw! Light weight parts are expensive!
