I know I’m probably overreacting and jumping to conclusions in this, I guess it’s just human nature when you know something ain’t right but yet you don’t have any answers. Kinda makes a man feel uneasy about things! Thanks again folks for being a sounding board!

An honest sense of caution is not bad. A closer look seems mandated by how you feel. I'm sure you will be able to "improvise, adapt and overcome". ;)

Morning men. Thank you gents for the comments, concerns, prayers. Just got off the phone making an appt to see my family practice doctor this afternoon and he’s going to write me a referral to a specialist/pulmonologist friend of his in Macon, Ga.

Good to hear you are going to see the Doc. GWS Jason.

I don’t know if it’s COPD or cancer...I don’t know right yet! When I take a full inhale, my left lung wants to get real tight, real fast. It’s gets a little painful...
I was diagnosed with COPD (emphysema) 10 years ago. My lung capacity is at roughly 55% and I've never experienced pain like you say. I just lose my breath and risk passing out (or worse) so I need to listen to my body. I do get a tightness in my upper chest (behind the sternum) that is uncomfotable.

I agree it sounds more like pneumonia to me so it's good you're getting it checked out.

Me... I had warning signs for over a year (even after giving up smoking) and ended up passing out on a rainy night in the woods. Luckily there was a cop there with me and he got me on O2 almost immediately and probably saved my life.

Knew a few guys with one lung from Vietnam. They did fine.

My cousin had pneumonia real bad after he ignored it from a cycle crash with a lung collapsed. They fixed the wreck but he ignored the pain weeks later. He couldn't breathe very good for a month after the pneumonia set it bad. ICU, drain tube and another week in the hospital, dumb really. Stop waiting for *s-word to fester.

Feel better soon!

Did they give you half a clue what's going on Jason?
Doc said it’s just the after effects of going through pneumonia basically...especially if they tap into your lung(s) to drain/remove any fluid. I’ll see a specialist this Thurs and hopefully everything will be ok.

Well that's great news. It sounds like you just need more time to heal up.

Great news from the regular doc. Keep us posted on the general news from the specialist. Semper FI!

Folks...had a PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and a PST (Pulmonary Stress Test), and x-rays late yesterday afternoon. Odd little array of tests if you never had one, and a little treadmill action (kinda like a cardio stress test)...but the Pulmonologist seems to think I did pretty well. I'll get the definite results maybe sometime today, if not Monday I'm sure at the latest.

Good morning Jason :icon_cafe:.
Worry; interest paid on a debt not yet due!
Don't worry bro, just be sure if it ain't a normal pain/illness that you get in and get it checked out.
Been struggling with a chest cold/ asthma/allergies for the whole month, never had my allergies act up this bad before and taking neb treatments every day for two weeks . It's nothing new, but not fun at all.
Glad to hear your on the mend, regardless I'll shoot some prayers up for you :).
