Yes it does , it's in the oven right now at 200 .
Shame , hardly used and won't fire . I guess that time is the enemy with electronics .

I did test the switch and wires for shorts and opens and tested good , the coil secondary showed it wasn't open either , had about 3k ohms if I read it correctly .

If the oven trick doesn't work I wonder how hard a good one of these are to find ?
You can buy new ones. Rottmans had them a couple years ago, they were $80 I believe. They're also for sale on ebay

Did the oven thing , reinstalled and now have a healthy blue spark .
Hopefully it's still there tomorrow , too late to fire it up here now !
FWIW, I have baked a few on the XL-76/SXLAO/XL-1 saws. It seems the longer/hotter they bake, the longer they last. I originally tried an hour at 225 or so. It lasted for a couple of tanks. I bake for around 3 hours at 260-270 now. I have read that some bake for 24 hrs or so at 200.

Well the P38 runs awesome , like a new saw which it almost is .
Acres site shows 9000 RPM as the max high speed and while it runs fine set to that it seems awful slow and rich . I brought it up to 11000 and it sounded nice and was still 4 stroking .
Anyone have much experience with these saws ??

Has lots of power in the wood at the lower power.....good enough .
Get too used to these modern machines and it makes these older ones sound odd .

Just finished this 1074 easy arc. The recoil was messed up a little but was an easy fix. Needed a good cleaning. Fuel lines were still good so I put some fuel in it and it fired up in a couple pulls. Sounds pretty good. I'll try and make some cuts with it this weekend.

Picked up these two Pioneer 850's off the auction site. The one without bar is currently
locked up and soaking. The one with bar got the full tuneup. New coil, points, condenser,
carb kit, fuel lines, filter. Now it runs like a top.
