You might try giving it a good soak in WD40 accompanied with some elbow grease. If the paint is burnt, no help there.

A little comet and a sponge followed by car wax might do it.

I have been sorting parts and saws and thought I'd share this. If anyone needs something specific I can post a pic.

Also this... And these...

Lots of old Oregon material and an array of tsbs for pioneer.

I'd honestly like to trade it all away... Lol. I need to finish this 650 then I'd like to trade all the extra parts I have away too. I have a few other older pioneer saws here yet too. I need to clean out.

Purple power undiluted - quickly scrub and rinse helps take off the heavy stuff. The sodium hydroxide will work pretty quickly. Finish with WD40 and a worn scotch brite. I have gently buffed other blemishes in the paint with Autosol. Won't take out the heat damage though.

Yeah I thought it had auto/manual oiler but doesn't ?
The p50 will probably be a parts saw both have spark though ?

Got these yesterday. Haven't got into them yet.

I'm wondering if that is a 62. The rear handlebar and the AF cover are from a Pioneer. It should be black and have a different AF cover.

Check the oil pump to see if there's an extra line going in or a fitting where one could. Check the cylinder bore. A 52 would have a little over a 2" bore and the 62 would have a 2.25" bore.

Good score on both saws They are very nice to run. Great balance and comfortable handle positions.

This is what it looks like.
I tried to measure bore what I came up with was 2.014
Would a p62 starter fit a p52 ?
