The set up on your p39 is better than the farmsaw set up imo.

You know what the proper filter looks like for the p39? Is it like the one in my pic?

It very well could have came with that filter set up. It's far better than the mesh filter from what I've experienced.

Got my 620 runing. Nothing more exciting then when you get an old saw running again. Always wonder how long they sat for. This one had fuel line goo plugging the inlet and rock hard diaphram and gaskets.
Need to make a gasket for where the filter housing thing bolts to carb and reasemble.

So these old saws like the 620 with the magnesium fuel tank ( or what ever it is made of). How do ya store them so they dont carode inside like this one was. Leave a little mix in them? Spray with some oil or somethimg? Its great to get them running but when ther not everyday saws they may sit quite a while befor they get fired up again.

Would you mix the ATF with some gas then drain the tank, or just use straight ATF. It sounds like a good idea, I probably won't use most of my old IEL Pioneers, but want them preserved well.

Straight up ATF for storage, a good rinse out with mix before filling to run again. Saw will smoke for a few seconds on start up but cleans up in less than a minute.

Thanks for the info. Will be trying that on some of these old saws. About half tank of ATF and shake it around or you fill rite up?

I get lightly used ATF for free from a race transmission builder, so I fill the tanks but save it when dumping , can be used forever.

Sun of a gun. I do need the thread pitch. The 600 has a latch set up. Not a screw.

The one from my 620 is 1/4 - 20 1 1/2 inches long.
Hey you know if the recoils are interchangable. I know the 600 had a weeker set up and kine is missing all the parts. I was gonna try the 620 on it tomorrow.
