Almost forgot i had this saw. It was tucked away on the back of my shelf.
Fired it up and put away with the rest of the saws.

Pretty good saws. Just don't want to yank real hard on the starter.

Intermediate result, the 1200 A is complete and running.
A spike bar is scheduled to arrive next week, an oil-pump-rod soon (thanks @rocketnorton)
and if all that shipping and customs procedures aren't too disturbing (no experience so far on my side)
a NOS bar will very like follow within then next weeks.

But so far, an old SACHS-DOLMAR bar has been fitted to the saw.
Currently the chain tensioner is also SACHS-DOLMAR fare.

Here's what she looks like now:

She's a beauty, isn't she?

I dug out the pioneer 600 to look at again. The biggest problem i am havin is cleaning out the fuel tank. I have rinsed many times reached in with small wire brush then blew out what i could but its still pretty grose in ther. I am pretty sure if i could get it cleaned all it needs is a carb kit to run then a really good cleaning.
Cant see much inside from the pic but thers a pile of crap i blew out of it.
Any ideas for cleaning the tank out.

White vinegar works great. You could also mix in some simple green.

Also put some BBs or ball bearings in there and shake them around real good. They'll knock off a lot of the big chunks. I've used ball bearings
and old saw gas which worked pretty good.

The vinegar and hand full of nuts and ball bearings seem to be helping. Its been soaking since yesterday and i go out onve in a while and shake the hell out of it and it.looks better than it was. Gonna keep doin that for another day or so and dump out and see whats left.

Hand full of nuts and screws and shake the tank in every direction till the inside shines. Did it to a PM390 tank and got about 1/8 cup of white powder
