I'm thinking you could use the boost port cylinder with
the original P60 piston. Is this not doable? Only issue I
can see is if the ring locating pins are in a different location
On a boost port versus non boost port.
I think the locating pins will be a problem, and the thin rings prolly won't last that long. I would just hot rod the p60 a little bit, and call it good. I think it will be hard to find the flywheel that is needed for that conversion anyways. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it just might not be worth it is all.

I see what your saying about the flywheel. Must be a different coil
and the mounting position on the cylinder. I have both cylinders.
I'll have to take a look and compare.

It makes ya wish all the large p series took the same flywheel and ignitions. It would have made things a lot easier.

It's funny you mentioned that. I was going to buy that from Ross, but forgot all about it. The price Ross was asking was more than fair. It seems like the value just keeps going up on the old Pioneer's. I would snag it and do some mods to it.

i will just keep my eyes open for a P65 or BP655
I appreciate the sage advice guys

Good luck on a P65, Those are by far the hardest to find of all the big P series.
I think I have seen only two come up for sale in the time I have been collecting
saws and one of them I bought.

well i bought another P60 from Ross last weekend, but then left it accidentally at Kevin's place in Michigan
they sent me a picture of it all taken apart as the group of them were "fixing" it.

A couple of vids with the Rupley P61 from last weekends GTG, she will hold her own with the best of the modern hot rods.
