This is my Huztl 660. Phase 1. I built it completely stock parts expect for and HL supply gasket kit. I built with no base gasket and a mild port job on it. Mostly just cleaning and beveling everything. It's cut about 3 cords of wood so far and has milled for about an hour.

This is where phase 2 comes in. This saw mills better and runs better them my BB stihl 660. So for phase 2 I'm swapping PC for a Cross MMWS PC with no base gasket. And the Stihl 660 is getting it OEM cylinder with a hyway piston and no base gasket with a mild port/cleaning job.

And then I will set out to mill some lumber and see which I like better.

I got my MMWS cross cylinder Friday. Finally had time to look at it tonight. Can't say I was super impressed with quality of it. For almost 4 times the cost of a Huztl cylinder I was hoping for better. But a little dremal work and looks good now. It mostly had sharp edges and lips on the ports. And on the squish band was full of what looked like small welding slag.

Slight change in plans. I decided to put the cross top end on my real Stihl. Haven't started it yet. I wanted to let the 1184 cure. Hoping with in the next month or so to get some cutting time on the cross.

Did your gasket maker squeeze out on the inside like it did the outside?

Honestly I have no idea. I imagine some did. Everything spins over by hand freely. I guess I will find out if i end up having a problem.

Sure looks like cross casted the exhaust port upside down. Roundish on bottom flat as hell on the top. Chamfer it good and it should be fine tho. Nice build and welcome to the site. And to the sites worst writer and speller. Yep thats me terrible at both.

Thank you. I'm not that great at English either. Pretty fluent in American tho.:)

Hoping after deer season to get this thing into some wood.

Got a chance to fire up the cross top end ms660. Tuned it to 12500 for now. Pretty responsive. Definitely idles better then the BB It had on It. It will probably be another week before I get it into wood.

So I'm checking my huztl carb over. And with way it smokes when I first start it. I would say I have a metering level off. I'm trying to find a video on how to set it but I'm having no luck. Plus I put my mityvac on the carb and it hold pressure until about 20 psi. I believe I read that suppose to be 7 psi. I will keep search but any help would be great.
