Husqvarna 61 metal brake flag straightening?

One of the last things I need to do on my 61 to 266 build. It seems somewhere I read a discussion that stated the flag needs to be heated to be straightened or it will break. Sounds right to me, just gonna mess up the plating. Y’all concur?

I've bent them without heat but it might be safer to heat it up a little.

For a little bending I'd do it cold, for David's saw I'd say heat should be used.
