Good morning fellas. Just curious if any of you have modified a 555 or 2258 crank to add crank stuffers? This is not a concept I am actively considering, but have thought it could be a fun side project.

One would think that the 560/562 crank stuffer cups would fit. I doubt they would make a completely different crank for the detuned version.

Piston and crankshaft bearings share the same part number.

I think the non-stuffer cranks have a slightly wider shoulder that would have to be cut down to allow room for the stuffers in the cross-direction.

Swap in a 562 crank?

The 562 uses a different crank.

Edit: Here is a nice video that @afleetcommand posted a while back explaining the differences between the 60cc husky/jred saws. To be honest, this video is what got me wondering if anyone had chucked a non-stuffed crank in the lathe and cut it to allow the use of stuffers.

Sounds like it still could be done, you might need to skim a little off the crank.
If I can find a good candidate, I will have to give this a try....not too many 555's floating around from what I can see.
