In this case i bought the stoppers and plates from husky. I think it was $25 or so.

I don't suppose you know the part numbers for those blockoff plates, do you? They don't seem to be in the IPL or the manual (which just has the IPLs).

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks!

As an update, it appears that the intake blockoff plate has been replaced with: 574 71 14-02

When I put this (Cover plate, inlet Closure of inlet 574 71 14-01) into the search on partstree, it says unavailable. When I put it into the search on Jack's small engines, it shows up as:
"Husqvarna 574711402
574711401 has been superceded to 574711402"

Are the 550 block off plates designed to also work on the 555/562?

So... The 1/4 turn on that screw under the brass plug fixes the "cuts fine and idles fine, but has a bog off of idle" condition?

As an aside, I already checked/yamabonded the base gasket and transfer covers, and am ordering the covers to make sure I don't have a vacuum leak from crank seals or something, though the saw has like 6 tanks through it so I doubt that. Was fine for the first few tanks, then I took it in to get the warranty/updated cover with the hole in it, and they put the new software on it and it now does this.

I played with mine again. It seems like one turn out is a good setting to start with on the screw. I tested the saw for leak and it did not move after 10 minutes. Vac tested the fuel line and same. No leaks. Put on a different carb I had purchased. No issues. Maybe at some point I will go back and try the old carb again. For now I need some long term evaluation of the newer carb. I checked the lever heights in the carbs. They both appeared above flush with the center of the casting. My W gauge does not cover this series so not sure what the measurement should be. Last question is the valve sheet in the carb. It is the blue plastic type. I thought that in the past these were not good for the 199's anyway.
Thoughts?

Just opened mine this evening. It was 3/4 turn out, so I backed it out 1/4 turn, making it an even 1 turn out. We'll see how it runs, tomorrow.

That didn't fix it, BTW. Haven't had a chance to mess with it other than that, due to pulling a muscle in my back on Sunday. I'm going to vacuum test it before I mess with any more adjustments, though.

OK, so interestingly enough, I got the plugs and covers, and the thing pressure and vacuum tests perfectly. Since it ran perfectly fine when OEM, then only started having this issue when I took it in to get the updated/warranty top cover for the vapor locking, and they put the new software on it, I really wonder if there wasn't a carb update in late 2015 or early 2016 (mine is a Walbro 7A 520), and the new software on the old carb is the issue. I'm going to try going into 1/2 turn on that screw (1/4 turn in from where it was, to go richer on the mixture, since mine seems like a lean bog), then I'm going to hit up my local dealer and see if they can put the older software back on it. It'll be a scholastic exercise, if nothing else. These can't be this finicky.

Finally got a chance to run it. Put it back together, like I said above, with the screw at 1/2 turn out (1/4 turn in from pre-set of 3/4 turn). It's not quite perfect, but it's MUCH better. I'll probably put 1/8 turn more in on it and run a couple tanks through it and see where it's at.
