This is a photo of a 2004 359. I believe the tank uses two disk plugs, which are missing as seen in the tank photos below.

I have a couple of questions.

What is the white plug that is in the vent hole?

Will the later style vent that has the hose barb retrofit to the earlier tanks?

The older vent is better imho. Just missing the outer puck which Just pushes in there. Don’t mess with the smaller plug if it’s still in there tightly.

Thanks. I just discover the small one was in there sideways. I was able to pull it out with a pair of small long needle nose pliers. Reinstalling them will require pulling the tank to do correctly

No problem. Sometimes you can get enough room disconnecting the cylinder av spring and rear handle av spring to swing the tank lower.

A little bit of yamabond or similar will hold the pucks in. I use an o ring pick and put a dab in two or three spots after installing.

i take a small sharp pick and put some prick marks on the inside edge of hole in tank so it grips the vent puck, seems to work good

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I will go back with the original style disks and will yamabond the outer plug in, being careful not yo glue over the small vent plug.
